The Website Analysis Report provides you with actionable insights into the way your website currently functions and how it can be optimized to achieve a more effective level of performance. But there is more to being a successful online marketer than simply optimizing your website. A complete Web Strategy, informed by a comprehensive Website Analysis Report, provides specific guidelines for content development, content distribution, online advertising, search engine marketing, and social media marketing and maintenance. The following provides an overview of both the Website Analysis Report and the development of an overall Web Strategy.
OVERVIEW
Websites organized by business units instead of customer goals — one of the most common mistakes companies make with their website. And in today’s consumer-controlled marketplace, it’s a fatal error. But it’s just one factor we consider when evaluating your website. Over 100 different factors are reviewed and researched to provide a comprehensive evaluation of your website’s strengths and weaknesses. Our systematic approach to evaluating the usability and effectiveness of websites and their ability to meet their marketing goals utilizes proven criteria and methodology combined from industry leading sources to create a thorough and comprehensive evaluation. And that’s just the beginning. From the comprehensive evaluation, we formulate an overall Website Strategy that brings new focus and direction to your site based on your customer’s goals and objectives. This Website Strategy includes specific direction for content development, content distribution, online advertising, search engine marketing, and social media marketing and maintenance. Also included with the strategy is a general website schematic with wireframes for all of the top level/key webpages.
Website Evaluation Your website will be reviewed using a unique combination of proven evaluation tools developed by the industry’s leading research organizations (Jupiter, Gartner, and Forrester). Over 100 different points are reviewed and researched to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the website’s strengths and weaknesses.
From these review points, an analysis is provided that defines critical needs for the website as well as recommendations for optimizing the performance of the website.
User Experience Scorecard This method defines specific “benchmark tasks” to be completed by the user and covers 20 specific criteria points that are divided into 4 major categories: Payoff, Courtesy, Trust, and Intelligence. Each criteria point is evaluated with a strict Pass or Fail grade. An overall scorecard shows how your website scores in each “benchmark task” and as a whole.
Multipoint Website Review This review combines criteria points from several industry-accepted tests. It has a total of 96 criteria and grades each one on a scale from 0 to 5. Grades are averaged for each category. Categories included in the review include:
- Overall Impressions
- Content Aspects
- Design Aspects
- Navigation Aspects
- Technical and Usability Aspects
- Transactional Aspects
- Service Provision Aspects
- Maintenance Aspects
- Content Enhancements
An overall scorecard shows how your website scores in each category and provides an overall average.
Review Customization You are also able to customize the criteria used in the review. Prior to the commencement of the Website Review, we will work with you to refine the testing criteria to ensure that all critical issues are addressed.
Secondary Research Based on the input you provide in advance of the Website Review, our strategists prepare for the Evaluation by researching the site, your competitors’ sites and your customers and their relationship with your site using secondary research resources.
Analysis Once your website site has been reviewed and the scores have been tabulated, a report is created that identifies key areas of the site that need to be addressed based on the review findings. This report will include suggestions and recommendations that will directly affect the redesign and development of your website.
The final analysis will be presented to you in a one to two hour-long presentation that includes a question and answer session. All of the scorecards and evaluation details will be documented and provided on disk at the time of the Final Analysis presentation. The Final Analysis will also include a presentation of the proposed Web Strategy and Site Architecture.
Web Strategy and Site Architecture Combining learnings from the Website Evaluation, Competitive Site Reviews, Usability Testing, and secondary research and analysis, we will evaluate and recommend a specific strategic approach that will allow you to maximize the Internet for your communication and marketing needs. The Website Strategy also includes recommendations and direction for content development, content distribution, online advertising, search engine marketing, and social media marketing and maintenance. Once the Website Strategy has been established, a website architecture will be created to outline and define the key navigational and content related components of the site based on the defined strategy. This will include an overall Architecture Schematic that points out the relationship between webpages and navigation. It will also include Wireframes of every key webpage of the site that identifies critical functions and navigation on a page-by-page basis.
